Today I Wish to talk about Kombucha. Which is obviously entirely unrelated to these Banana Oatmeal Cookies, but I understand you won't obey.

Let me begin by saying that my husband drinks apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water daily to reduce inflammation or something like that.

He claims it is magical. I assert it's nasty.

While I understand this will seem spectacular (because it is)I literally dry heave at the sight and odor of the morning ritual to a daily basis. He loves that around me.

Based on this reaction, one would feel I would stay far away from Kombucha, correct? I mean, after all, it definitely comes with a vinegary tang.

But for some reason, I continue trying it. I Would like to like it SO DANG BAD.

I'm really a marketer's dream cause each and every time I see someone I know liking a sip, or even simply denying their favourite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Maybe that one will actually taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me with air quotes around the word appreciating because I think it is hard to believe this stuff is truly enjoyable in almost any sense of the word.

And spoiler alert. None of them taste good. None.

Even those that people claim are light are a big no-go for me. They taste just like freaking bubbly vinegar.

I am basically convinced that anybody who drinks this fermented tea material gets zero taste buds, or severely funky ones.

I like these biscuits a little about the side, so I inhale them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you prefer them to be cooked through, I'd take for 10-11 minutes.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup pops flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and then mix in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add in the skillet and vanilla.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and mix until just blended.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and blend until incorporated.

Use a moderate cookie scoop (about 1.5 tbsp ) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then gently press the shirts of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Considering these cookies do not spread considerably, this will help give them a conventional cookie shape.
